The third edition of the Climate Arena Conference, organized by Arena for Journalism in Europe through the Arena Climate Network, has wrapped up in Bologna.
This year’s conference was sold out, bringing over 200 journalists, researchers, and environmental experts together to build impactful climate journalism and cross-border collaboration.
Highlights from Two Days of Engagement and Collaboration
This year’s Climate Arena featured more than 31 sessions, panels, and workshops, where participants – over 60% of whom were women – illustrated how to conduct far-reaching investigations, from methane emissions to the hidden costs of industrial agriculture.
Additionally, the 14 Fellows of the 2024 Climate Arena Fellowship joined us for specialized training sessions focused on cross-border investigations.
Arena’s team was thrilled to host such a vibrant and engaged group and is grateful to every single attendee and all the volunteers, whose hard work made this conference possible.
You can find this year’s program archived here, along with the programs of previous Climate Arena editions.

Arena’s Year-Round Support for Cross-Border Investigations
While the conference may be over, the collaboration continues.
Arena for Journalism in Europe fosters lasting cross-border connections among journalists. Through our thematic networks—Climate, Labour, and Food & Water—journalists can keep connecting, brainstorming, and building their work. Our Collaborative Desk is also available year-round for teams needing secure infrastructure and mentorship for cross-border projects.
